In a city that emphasizes the importance of physical and mental wellness, the Cleveland Clinic and the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) are making successful strides in the field of healthcare. In summer 2019, the new Health Education Campus is set to bring medical, nursing, dental medicine and physician assistant students together to learn with, and from, each other.
Designed by the architect that brought us the Hearst Tower in New York and the Apple Park in California, Lord Norman Foster of England has curated a spacious, state-of-the-art environment spanning over 477,000 square feet complete with classrooms, lecture halls, faculty offices, and a large central atrium. Adjacent to the Cleveland Clinic Dental School will be a recreational park providing access to the neighboring children and their parents.
Academic programs from the CWRU School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine and the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine started in March and the first classes begin in July. This new location also promises to provide the students with a suitable place of learning and service where they can learn to treat patients under the supervision of top faculty with high-end equipment.
The dental clinic, meanwhile, provides residents better access to dental care than the school's current location. Featuring an adjacent parking lot, drop-off and pick-up at the clinic door, the upcoming location provides a healthier surrounding that is far airier and well-lit. In addition, its neighborhood location makes it easier for students and faculty to connect with the local community centers and schools in order to provide educational outreach.
With nearly 19,000 patients seeking treatment at the school's clinic each year, it so happens that 11,000 of them are Cleveland residents. The InterContinental Suites Cleveland is but a short walk from the campus and comes in handy especially when you need a quick check-up. Visit our hotel
